Thunder storms scaring rabbits to death?

I am planning on getting a rabbit and keeping it in a hutch on my balcony. I live in Thailand and during this season there are heavy storms almost every night. The noises are very loud, The rabbits area will be covered so it will not get wet but can the sounds of lightning scare the rabbit to death. It will be very young when I buy it (2 months)
