Learning C++.. Now what to do?

I am reading a book on c++ and a few different tutorials just learning to use the syntax of the language. Now that I have the basic syntax down what do I do to advance as a C++ programmer. I understand concepts like if statements functions etc. From here should I just yze other people's code or keep reading through more advanced c++? Thanks to anyone who can help.
